I bought this for my nephew after hearing him and his friends go on and on about the world of webkinz. The beagle itself was cute but I liked that the web interaction was positive. My nephew looked forward to doing educational exercises because they were worth a lot of webkinz points with which he could buy things for his dog. The yearly subscription has since run out and as my nephew gets older I suppose he's not into that anymore. However, at the time, at ten years old, he really enjoyed it.

I'm not sure how her parents felt about it in the long run, but our granddaughter was delighted with the Webkinz animals we have bought for her. Many of her friends had them before her, so I think our son and daughter-in-law knew that it was inevitable that Sarah would one day be on the Webkinz band-wagon. They are like potato chips ... once they have one, they can't stop there! LOL
The interesting difference between these stuffed toys and the mudane is that each toy gives you a membership on the Webkinz website. There the "owner" can care for a digital version of the toy in various ways, and earn web site hosted upgrades for it.
If not abused the toys are quite durable, and this is a long lasting point of interest for a child compared to many "one and done play" types of toys.

This Beagle is very soft. It is a webkinz toy. I love it.I got it to be able to play with my grandkids,at the webkinz site on the computer. We have a lot of fun.
